Viewers are transported to the center of a textile hub, where young adults from different rural locations along the Yangtze River come together, throughout this about three hours and thirty-two-minute cinematic adventure. Chronicling the lives of these early-twentieth-century individuals, the film portrays their shared experiences in intimate detail, from living in close quarters and sharing meals to working tirelessly toward the goal of one day owning a home, raising a family, or launching a business. The story unfolds, highlighting the ups and downs in their relationships, the hardships brought on by unstable finances, and the responsibilities to their families that mold their lives. YOUTH (SPRING) is a moving examination of the human condition, friendship, and love in the face of unwavering ambition, set against the backdrop of China's immense terrain.
