Filmmaker Simon's life takes an unexpected turn when he is summoned back to London from India to look after his eccentric, retired gay actor uncle, David. Chaos ensues as everything seems to go awry. David, with his rebellious spirit, refuses to consider moving into a care facility and insists on staying in his dilapidated, unheated home until the end. Despite his forgetfulness, David retains his passion for Shakespeare, reciting lines from his favorite plays. As David's behavior mirrors that of "King Lear," with him giving away large sums of money to a young "helper," Simon grapples with how to care for his aging relative. How can Simon ensure that David has a dignified and peaceful end?
