Childhood’s End will be back in theatres on January 16 and 17, and then The Lights in the Sky Are Stars on January 23 and 24 to kick off this full cinematic experience.
Honouring the 15th anniversary of its cinematic debut, Gurren Lagann debuted in April 2007 and ran for 15 months. This TV anime series, which won the 11th Japan Media Arts Festival Animation Division Excellence Award, was director Hiroyuki Imaishi's debut project. The show became well-known both in Japan and abroad thanks to its distinct directing style and catchy dialogue. Rewritten dialogue and new sequences were included in the 2008 release of the original movie, which was followed by a 2009 sequel.
The mecha designs were created by You Yoshinari, while Atsushi Nishigori handled character design and Kazuki Nakashima handled the screenplay. The project presents these films in 4D for the first time in addition to bringing them back to theatres.
Gurren Lagann revolves around Simon, a small child residing in Giha Village, an underground community. They set out to explore the world above with the help of Yoko, a young woman from the surface, and Kamina, a character akin to his older brother. Accompanied by a mecha named Lagann, they set off for Teppelin, the Spiral King's headquarters. Simon and Team Dai-Gurren must fight a valiant intergalactic war after mankind defeats the Spiral King and takes back control of the surface due to a new threat.
